hey there! no updates to the webbed site today, too busy doin' a whole lot of nothin. but a ton of progress yesterday! it is raining like CRAZY today, which wouldn't be a problem if i could stay inside all day, curled up with some cats and my boyfriend and a cup of tea. but unfortunately there's kinda this degree i'm working towards, and therefore. the outside beckons. on my way to class today, the wind was SO BAD that my umbrella did nothing to protect me. we had horizontal rain, inverted umbrellas, and a pair of jeans entirely soaked through (MY ONLY PAIR OF JEANS.) chaos ensued and i ended up huddled in a study room for a couple hours. which was good, actually, because i desperately need to lock in on my study routine. i got some stuff done, and had a DELICIOUS dinner - shoutout dining hall beef burgundy. life is so beautiful. and i've spent the rest of my day watching buffy and loafing around! made some tea, some spicy popcorn, having a pretty good time! except my bones hurt and i'm feelin a little run down, so it's an early bedtime tonight. i am really excited about the new oscar isaac Frankenstein movie!!!! many such joys in life. goodnight!
hello!! this is the first day of my blog, and the second day of my website :) it has been a JOURNEY getting here!
i really wanted a space to act in place of social media; the brainrot is TOO much for me, and if i'm going to waste my time, i'm going to waste it while having fun! i had already deleted most functionality from instagram (leaving only stories and chat functionalities, since a lot of meeting people in college happens on insta) and had started using tumblr again, since that is the social media where i feel the least like a commodity. but the switch to tumblr introduced me to a new idea: the web revival! if you're here, you probably already know about it, but if not, here's the rundown: basically, the internet / social media you're probably used to is called web3; it is run by corporations and capitalists, and it isn't a product built for you - YOU are the product, and money is being made based off of how well they can exploit you and wring money out of you. but! the way the web used to be, things were built by users, for users, and they were FUN!! notice how everyone's instagram looks the same? there's nearly no customizability, just the same, bland light mode or dark mode? well no longer! introducing building your own website, such as this one right here, where you can still be "social" using "media" without having to participate in the big horror that is modern social media! there's a lot more to it, but that's the basic idea! sooo here i will be hosting all my thoughts, ideas, and stuff. i. like! maybe i'll ask around my irl circles and see if anyone has a neocity - who knows! could make some new friends! okay, back to pseudo-html-ing to try and get this thing up and running. see ya later!!
